Both  COMMUNICATION  and  TECHNOLOGY  have been passionate pursuits in my life. I have built a career by using a wide range of advanced technologies to generate effective communications in the form of books, magazines, films, advertising, PR, and internet content of nearly every type. With over  25 years  in publishing, marketing and software development, and as a dedicated technologist, I consistently combine the long-standing  disciplines  of traditional marketing with the emerging  arts  of online marketing to deliver strategic,  measurable  marketing results using advanced technologies.

Casa Dana Group is a marketing consultancy and  content publishing  company. Responsible for strategic planning, business analysis, operations management, creative direction, project management, system integration, training, copy writing, editing, production planning,  user-experience/interface design,  software engineering, and public lectures.

Have successfully delivered projects including: on-line multimedia content development, social networking for both business development and consumer brands, online retailing, communications, advertising, corporate websites, entertainment content, educational films and live streaming HD video shows.

Built successful marketing and communications department for dot-com startup and set strategic direction. Repositioned the company in new business category (marketing automation systems) directly contributing to success of  two rounds of private placements,  and increasing the company’s market cap from $80 million to $530 million. Established and managed all marketing efforts, including planning, budgeting, positioning, public relations, advertising, sales support, events, strategic partnering and retention programs. Conducted extensive analyst briefings, journalists interviews, and investor briefings.

Provided client base with rich-media email marketing strategies and established integrated internet marketing programs. Clients: Disney, Warner Bros., Oracle, Hewlett Packard, US Senators, PetSmart.com, AMFM Interactive, BMG Music, StanLee.net, AvenueA.com, DoubleClick.net, AdSmart.net (Engage/CMGI), and  several global advertising agencies,  including Publicis, Grey, and J. Creative Director
Department head with expertise in: operation of in-house design and marketing studio, overall creative direction, and management of advertising agencies. Developed and protected all  global brand protocols,  user interfaces, partner relations and sales communications. Managed development of national branding campaigns (online, print and TV), industry events, original and syndicated online content development, online advertising packages, customer loyalty programs, affiliate marketing programs, and  personalization  initiatives. Provided direction to and managed staff of designers, art directors, copy writers, editors and media buyers. During this period, the company became the seventh most recognized online consumer brand and grew to an ecommerce powerhouse accounting for over $26 million in sales per day.

Financial Processing Systems
Director, Internet Services
Created and  launched successful profit-center business division  for financial software company. Integrated the company’s full line of software products. Designed and implemented several business products focusing on intranet network integration and system design, web development and business systems engineering.

Responsible for budgeting, staffing, hardware and software integration of servers using disparate protocols and servers, web production system design, hands-on production, extensive sales training, top-level executive training seminars, as well as public presentations. Deployed systems resulting in reduced labor and overhead expenses; expanded  new business sales  and prospects; dramatically reduced response time in production, customer relations, employee training, and in-house communications; lowered expenses associated with corporate, legal, HR and accounting communications; and reduced implementation cycles for corporate policy and procedure changes.

Ardis Publishers
Owner
The largest Russian-language publishing house outside of the Soviet Union, Ardis Publishers was sold in 2002. Responsible for computer system integration and maintenance, art direction, book, type and cover design, typesetting, production planning, 4-color pre-press, imaging, and editing. Created and launched a  publishing services  division named Infoscan, the first commercialization of Ray Kurzweil designed OCR systems for Russian. Designed and integrated dedicated hardware and software solutions, including artificial intelligence, delivered conversion and production solutions to the publishing industry, including foreign-language and academic publishers. Integrated multi-platform desktop publishing systems to create multi-lingual, distributed work-force production solutions. Planned, edited and typeset monographs, periodicals and catalogs.

Clients included: Federal, State and Local government agencies, academic libraries and several international, university and independent publishers (i.e., Oxford University Press, MIT Press, University of Michigan Press).
