Created and launched successful profit-center business division
for financial software company. Integrated the company’s full line of software products. Designed and implemented several business products focusing on intranet network integration and system design, web development and business systems engineering.
Responsible for budgeting, staffing, hardware and software integration of servers using disparate protocols and servers, web production system design, hands-on production, extensive sales training, top-level executive training seminars, as well as public presentations. Deployed systems resulting in reduced labor and overhead expenses; expanded new business sales and prospects; dramatically reduced response time in production, customer relations, employee training, and in-house communications; lowered expenses associated with corporate, legal, HR and accounting communications; and reduced implementation cycles for corporate policy and procedure changes.
The largest Russian-language publishing house outside of the Soviet Union. Responsible for computer system integration and maintenance, art direction, book, type and cover design, typesetting, production planning, 4-color pre-press, imaging, and editing. Created and launched a publishing services
division named Infoscan, the first commercialization of Ray Kurzweil designed OCR systems for Russian. Designed and integrated dedicated hardware and software solutions, including artificial intelligence, delivered conversion and production solutions to the publishing industry, including foreign-language and academic publishers. Integrated multi-platform desktop publishing systems to create multi-lingual, distributed work-force production solutions. Planned, edited and typeset monographs, periodicals and catalogs.
Clients included: Federal, State and Local government agencies, academic libraries and several international, university and independent publishers (i.e., Oxford University Press, MIT Press, University of Michigan Press).
